Wow! It's been awhile since I posted an updated blog! Here goes....
There are lots of changes coming, changes to Bandcamp and Spotify that are not good for Independent Artists. Thresholds on streaming revenue right down to extremely low royalty payouts for starters. Add to that, Spotify allows sloppy self-publishing that impacts the perception of the quality of Independent Music out there. Crappy music, poorly written, poorly performed and poorly produced is a pretty low bar. Consider that that music sits with yours. You've taken the time to get the arrangement so all transitions in your music are fluid, your performance is the best you can give and you've painstakingly strived to mix and master your tracks so they are optimal for the listener.
After all that hard work you deserve to have your music sit alongside other quality productions on a platform that caters to your listening audience. A platform that strives to be different. A platform that brings the best of Independent music to the listener. A platform that that is 100% organic. A platform that is 100% grass-roots. A platform that provides Label Services and more, yet offers a one-stop-shop for All Things Independent Music! A platform owned and operated by Independent Artists For Independent Artists. They said "Build it and they will come". At INDIE TUNZ Records, we have established a great foundation on which to build an Independent Music Community and Network that has the potential to support Independent Music around the world.

INDIE TUNZ Records was founded by me, Kenny in 2016. We have grown by leaps and bounds since that time and 100% of that growth has been organic, mostly by word-of-mouth referrals. I am so thankful for every Artist that has crossed my path and for those that have entrusted us with their music! There is not a day that goes by that I wish I could do more!
We are currently engaging new partners in Sean McKenna (Dartmouth Nova Scotia) and Brent Doerner (Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario) to help expand our reach and to build more supports into our growing network. Sean brings a wealth of experience and will be acting as Marketing Manager and Co-lead of our A&R Team. Brent will be assuming the role of Artistic Director, Website Manager and Co-Lead of our A&R Team.
We are in the process of expanding our website, Label services and developing multiple revenue streams that will provide multiple sources of income for Artists that join our Network. We believe that Artists can make a reasonable income from their music when an infrastructure is in place that supports just that.
